Snickers is a great example of a Classic American Shetland Pony. He is 14 years old this year and still competitive in halter classes at the top level. That speaks for itself in my opinion. He is smart, athletic and curious. He is probably the most willing pony I have ever met. He is not a beginner pony by any means simply because he is very dynamic and strong, but he does not have a mean bone in his body. I can sit underneath him and clip and as soon as I stand up he stomps the fly off his leg, never once flinching until I get up. He is a people pony, but is loving his socialization with the herd. He is the protector and friend to all the younger ponies. One in a million. Look for Snickers back in the show ring in 2010. |
