| In October 2007 Sierra underwent colic surgery at Texas A&M Large Animal Hospital. The surgeon removed an enterolith the size of a woman's fist from her large intestine. Sierra stayed at the hospital about 15 days and was on complete stall rest for 60 days due to drainage at the incision site. She has resumed most of her normal activities and is now back to being turned out on a regular basis. Throughout the ordeal her spirit sustained her. She always allowed us to do whatever was necessary and remained calm and friendly and always happy to see us. |
